START YOUR SEEDS

Not sure where to start? It all begins with a tiny seed (or seedling starter). We'll get you started in early in the year so you can see results in the summer.

WATCH THEM GROW

Celebrate each new leaf as your seeds germinate and turn into real plants. We'll let you know when it's time to transplant to a larger pot or move to the garden.

HARVEST FRESH FOOD

You'll be snacking on snow peas soon enough, and cheering on all the rapidly growing roots, stalks and vines now flourishing in the summer sun.

  • List of materials, including seeds, bedding plants (including suggested cultivars), containers and raised beds, mulches, fertilizers, trellises and other recommended accessories.
  • Quote for installation and cost of materials.

install & plant

Per hour, minimum 1 hour per visit

Materials extra

  • Construction and installation of raised garden beds, containers and support structures, such as trellises and stakes.
  • Planting of bedding plants and seeds, and addition of fertilizer and mulch. 
  • Options include:
    Early spring planting in Mid-March to April for cold hardy crops, late spring for heat loving crops, summer planting for fall-harvested cool weather crops and/or succession planting through the season.

  • Delivery, construction and installation of raised garden beds, containers and support structures, such as trellises and stakes.
  • Planting of bedding plants and seeds according to the season, and application of fertilizer and mulch. 
  • Subscription to Good to Grow Insiders newsletter, including reminders for when to sow, up-pot, transplant, water, fertilize, succession plant and harvest, based on plants in your garden.

KEEP GROWING

Customized Maintenance Services

Ideal for those in apartments with no room for storage, those who need extra help with the more physical aspects of gardening, those who don't have a vehicle or ability to transport heavy bags of soil, or those who want the benefit of growing food without hassle. Clients on a maintenance plan get first access to classes on seed starting, preserving and other learning opportunities.

One time fee

  • Early spring visit: Get your garden ready for the growing season. Remove cover crops, review soil health, top up soil, apply fertilizers and make repairs as required.
  • Late fall visit: Close your garden to rest and recover. Harvest remaining food, remove expired or diseased plant material, plant cover crops, and clean and store tools and accessories.
  • Includes delivery and off-season storage of bulk materials and tools, such as mulch, soil, wire cages, etc., for those with space limitations. Cost of materials not included.

  • Set a regular cadence of gardening assistance to fit your budget and needs.
  • Planting of bedding plants and seeds, and addition of fertilizer and mulch. 
  • Routine tasks as required, including: sowing, up-potting, planting, weeding, pruning, watering, staking, reseeding, replanting, harvesting.
  • Troubleshooting issues caused by pests, disease and soil nutritional deficiencies.

Materials & Accessories

Seeds & seedlings

Want to get a jump start on the growing season? Start seeds in late winter or early spring so seedlings are ready to go in the ground after the last frost. Attend one of our seed-starting sessions and receive a kit to get growing.

Soil, fertilizers & mulches

Don't underestimate the value of soil health. This is the foundation for a healthy garden that produces great food and resists pests, disease and environmental stressors. Start with good soil, feed it organic inputs and protect it with a robust layer of straw mulch. We supply the amounts you need in your particular garden without you needing to store half-empty bags on site.

Raised Beds & Containers

You can grow in the ground but heavy clay often found throughout the Okanagan can make it difficult. Raised beds and containers help reduce bending and can fit nearly anywhere that gets good sun exposure. We only source these from quality Canadian companies.
